STEWARDING
This year at Youthwork the conference, we are looking for some enthusiastic & energetic people to join our stewarding team.
This is a great chance to see what goes on at the conference, and you may well get the opportunity to go along to a seminar or Main Session to hear about what's going on in the world of youthwork. We will provide you with a small ministry gift, some free meals, and accommodation over the weekend.
The days are long and can be tiring, serving from early morning to late at night, with breaks for meals. Please note that you will spend quite a lot of time on your feet and there will be some heavy lifting.
The Role
The team will be around 18 Stewards, led by our Chief Steward. To join the team you will need the ability to work as part of a group, respond positively to leadership, have the appropriate physical resilience to cope with the demands of the role, plus flexibility, enthusiasm and patience.
- Typical jobs might include
- Assisting the Info Point Team in registering delegates
- Seating people in an orderly fashion in venues
- Being responsible for venue entrances and exits
- Attending team meetings
- Supporting the Speaking Team
- Operating recording equipment
- Distributing leaflets

- Relaying messages as required
When
You will need to arrive by lunchtime on the Friday, and will be able to leave late afternoon on the Sunday. There may also be the need for one or two stewards to be around from the Thursday afternoon to help steward the early day, so please let us know if you would be available to do this.
Accommodation
We provide free accommodation, sharing a room with one other steward of the same gender. At both weekends this will be in a local B&B, close to the conference centre. If you'd like to share with a particular team member, we will try to arrange this.
Meals
On Saturday and Sunday we will provide you with breakfast. Lunch vouchers to spend in the conference centre café will be provided for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Your ministry gift will include an allowance towards your evening meals on Friday and Saturday.
Ministry Gift
A small ministry gift of £70 will be provided to help cover your travel expenses and evening meals.
